I had the honour of assisting as the Toastmaster at the wedding of Becca & Paul in Eccleston Village, just outside of Chester recently. One of the reasons they picked Eccleston Parish Church for the wedding is that the church has 8 bells giving Paul, a campanologist (the art of bell ringing), the chance to ring a full peel the day before the wedding. It took 3 hours to ring and it was followed by a few beers in Chester! Amongst their guests were a number of bell ringers and they entertained us with a fantastic show on their hand bells, a first for me!!
The Photographer that day was Tim Hensel who was professional throughout even when the weather took a turn for the worst! Tim was great to work with and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a first class photographer.
The reception was held in the village hall and the transformation by Becca, her family and friends was truly inspirational! A hog roast was the star of the buffet and the speeches were short, sharp and to the point!! Paul’s was highly amusing and was one of the best Bride Groom speeches I have heard for some time. He did go on about a team call Everton but, there you are, you can’t have everything!!!
A great fun packed day showing that you can do a DIY wedding and really pull it off!! Well done everyone.
